Sandvik Materials Technology is a business area within the Sandvik Group and a world-leading manufacturer of high value-added products in advanced stainless steels, special alloys, as well as metallic and ceramic resistance materials for the most demanding industries. Operations are divided into three product areas: Tube, Primary Products, and Strip, Wire and Heating Technology.

Key performance areas

As the Engineering Coordinator, you will be responsible for coordinating the qualification activities of major medical device programs from the proto-type stage all the way through to the final production ready process. This will involve developing standard operating procedures, data collection templates, training programs, and other articles in order to transfer the prototype process to full production for major medical programs being undertaken.

Additional responsibilities include:

  • Monitor initial launch of major medical device programs to ensure that they are functioning according to plan (yields, quality level, production time, cost etc)

  • Act as interface between Production and Engineering when issues arise on programs being followed

  • Support application specialists regarding the collection of data and writing of reports related to programs assigned

  • Apply engineering discipline and lean / six sigma principles for the purpose of continuously improving the manufacturing processes for programs involved

  • Participate in special projects as assigned by the Production Unit Manager
