Hello All,
Today we decided to have a good lunch out and enjoy a long walk. So, off we went to find a good place to eat, and to find a pet store... Audry is out of chewies and we don't want things getting ugly. The challenge of not having a car/not knowing the area (at all) is you have to search for stores, restaurants etc. that fall on either a bus route or within walking distance. We found a highly reccomended "pet store" only about 1.5 miles away and it was pretty today so off we went!
We got to the pet store and aside from meeting zero standard health codes & being the size of a coat closet it was run by a very amiable man who helped us choose an acceptable "squeeky chicken" and some chewies. Quest complete, whats Next? LUNCH!
Enter - Blackbird's. A brilliant little gastro-pub down near Bruntsfield Links we had a great meal consisting of a Chicken Pie/Chips (a brave choice by Lili who's gastronomic preferences rarely venture away from fried chicken and cheese sandwiches) and Beer Battered Prawns (and 1/2 of Lili's chips) for Andrew.
Blackbird's is a very enjoyable (but pricey) option if you're ever in the area haha but definilty not an everyday watering hole, you'll be broke in a week! Anyway even though we are eating cheese sandwiches and cereal tomorrow to get back on budget it was a beautiful day out.
Next, off to find the surf shop!

PS: The pet shop owner showed us around his selection of locally made pet treats.... Audry has a fussy tummy when she eats basic American food - HAGGIS??? for doggies??? NOOOO
