Bienvenue!

For those who do not know, that means welcome, in French. Being in Montreal, they speak French, and English but it seems most French. This morning it was up and out to the track! The first task of any travel is figuring out how to get around. Down into the metro we were all experienced, so luckily it didn't take much to figure out. After a bit of waiting, two trains, and some walking, we made it to the track.

Having three day passes, we were allowed early entry to check everything out. You board a bus, they drive you around the track, and drop you off at the pits, or for those of you cultured in this type of thing, the stables. We had the opportunity to wander around, watching the mechanics wrenching on some of the cars, fine tuning them for the upcoming days of speed and glory.

After some time well spent getting the rundown of what was going on, what was going to happen, and where we were going to sit, it was time to fill hungry stomachs. This meant back on the metro and into downtown. Luckily, as we surfaced from the metro station, there happened to be a Great Eggspectations right in front of us! Delicious brunch to calm our hunger and off down the street, looking for a patissarie. Sadly we were unable to one of the caliber we were looking for, so tomorrow the journey continues. Back to the hotel it was for a bit of relaxing and down time before dinner.

The time came for more food, it is amazing how food drives our lives and our journeys. Being tired from wandering around we wanted some place close by. Luckily there was a little French restaurant not far from the hotel. Rack of lamb, pork chops, the food did not disappoint. Though we were all happy with dinner, everyones favorite part is dessert, so two slices of chocolate cake to share around. This was no ordinary chocolate cake, it was a cake base with a healthy portion of mousse on top. So with full bellies and smiles we made our way back to the hotel to prepare for tomorrow, race practice.

More soon!
