Hello All!
Today I (Lili) went to Glasgow for my Reaserch Methods course. It was a daunting prospect because not only did I have to get up at 6am (I am not a morning person AT ALL) but I had to somehow navigate myself to Glasgow by train on my own!! Ick :(

After a short bus ride and then a 50min train ride I arrived in Glasgow. Glasgow has a far more urban atmosphere than Edinburgh with much more of a "city center" vibe. We (my teacher, classmates & I) made our way to The Lighthouse. The Lighthouse is known to be Scotland's Centre for Design and Architecture and is located just off the Style Mile.

We were there to attend the exhibition covering the planning, exicution & legacy of the Commonweath games.

Once we completed our tour we boarded a second train to go walk around the Commonwealth games site, now vacated, and discuss the impact the legacy of the games has left on their host city of Glasgow/ Dalmarnock. From the lack of, well... anything.... in Dalmarnock, we came to the conclusion that the "leaving the city a better, greener place" claim by the Commonwealth Games committee was an EPIC FAIL.

Observe this Commonwealth car park... YEY

I then began the journey back to Edinburgh, declining to stay and go to some pubs with my classmates in Glasgow so I could get back to homework and happily Andrew, and to be honest get out from under the increasingly heated debates between the YES & NO campaigners going on all over Glasgow City center! I think the refferendum vote tomorrow is due!

Anyway, more soon!
Lili
