Hello all!

Today was a historic day for the world, not just us space nerds! The Rosetta spacecraft sucessfully landed on a comet! Very simply, this is the first spacecraft ever to land on the surface of a speeding comet - a huge landmark in the history of space exploration. Because comets are remnants from the formation of the solar system it is hoped that it will unlock further clues about the development of life on Earth.

We were lucky enough to be watching when the signal came back from the craft confirming a completed landing and the first pictures started coming in of the comet surface.
