Hello all!
Take a moment now, pause, are your socks dry? Your feet warm? Is there rain inside your jacket? No? Appreciate that... we'll wait...

Now that we have helped you to appreciate the little things we can tell you about our day. Maybe this visual will help...

We bundled up, wellies, hoods and beagle booties and headed out into the unknown.

Being American, and apparently impervious to the little things we were under the delusion that having survived hurricane season a "gale" was slim pickin's. And so it seemed to be until half way through our damp but tolerable walk... then the skies opened up and we got to experience something new... Florida style monsoon rain, horizontally... and wind that allowed you to walk involentarilly at a skipping pace... niiiiceee.

We had to duck under an archway that is part of the NHS hospital campus near out flat. Once the rain took a breath we were able to vlow ourselves back to the flat to wring out.

The only way you can recover from being assaulted by mother nature is comfort food... enter Lili and some home made shepard's pie. Complete with flakey pastry!

End the evening with hot cocoa and "squirty cream" (don't ask) and off to bed! And guess what? The storm apparently only just began to touch the other coast tonight... it still has the whole weekend to slide over us! whoohoo.

More soon!
