Cash's Birthday-Day

Hello all!

Today was Cash's birthday! So we decided to bug him aaaallllll day long in order to properly celebrate.

Originally we were going to join him to see The Bonnevilles down at the Franklin Rock & Roll club but alas, they sold out :(.

But, by a happy turn of events, they were playing a free afternoon gig at a record/bookstore down on Lieth walk. Soooooo - new game plan set!

We got to the birthday boy's flat about 2:00 and had a well needed cup of tea, the wind had removed all feeling from our faces as soon as we got off the bus.

After that we headed the grueling 1/2 block to The Elvis Shakespeare record and bookstore to see the show.

To call the shop a cramped venue would be an understatement, the band was jammed in the corner and there was about 2 square feet from which you could actually see the band but the shop was a gem. Where else can you watch a live gig while paging through a history of elizabethan England??

We got to see abridged versions of both band's set lists and had a great time browsing records and taking in the tunes.

After Cash ventured back across town with us to order Indian food and watch the surf competition online. After tea and cookies we said goodbye to the birthday boy and bunkered in for the night, hopeful we did justice to his big day and full of naan and good cheer.

More soo!
