Hello all!

The sun graced us with its lovely face today, so we took a trip south to visit Rosslyn Chapel. This amazing piece of architecture was more recently made famous from the final scenes of the movie, "DaVinci Code". It has a history far more complex than the movie and corresponding book elude to.

Foiled again! So being a functionin chapel and also not in the best of condition, there is no photography allowed inside. Needless to say, the interior is incredible. The entire chapel is covered in hand carved faces, fourishes, and anything else you can think of. Years of weather entering the chapel along with multiple people placing their stamp on the chapel has left it an enigma with a style all its own. Outside it just as magnificient as the interior, with flying buttresses and gargoyles clinging to the fragile sandstone.

Afterwards we decided to take advantage of the lack of wind and head back to the botanical gardens. The glass houses were open, so in we went!

There are 7 different glass houses, each with their own flora, everything from ferns, to cacti, to birds of paradise and beyond. The warmth was soaked in as well as the lovely colour. Koi ponds, water falls and trees towering upwards of 30 feet left us impressed. The first few houses are a sight to behold. They are the original glass houses built in the late 1800's and the architecture is as beautiful as the plants. A few hours wandering through had us relaxed and not ready to leave, but we had to.
