A Royal Day Out

Hello all!

Today was the final day of Lili's family visiting, so we thought it appropriate to give them a royal send off. The morning started with Andrew, Catherine, David and Andrew visiting the Brittania. Andrew and Catherine arrived first, and when David and Andrew arrived, the fire alarm was quickly pulled to keep them out, apparently Davids reputation preceeds him. They finally cleared David, and he was allowed to enter as we all made our way onto the ship. Ok, it might have actually been a drill, but still, the timing is quite suspicious. Once on board we were able to view everything from the Queen's bedroom, to sitting rooms, the Royal Rolls Royce Phantom V that was kept on board, all the way down to the surgery and industrial laundry room.

A quick meet up for some food with Lili and Gary, and it was on our way to the next royal stop, the Palace of Holyrood. The Queens Scottish residence, we wandered through the receiving rooms and the historic wing where some truly terrible events unfolded. No photos were allowed, and the wardens seemed more formidable than those in Gladstones, so, sorry no photos form this part. We did get to take some photos out in the abbey ruins which was the original building on this site before the palace.

The ruins then led into the royal gardens, and with another beautiful day in Scotland, we had to take advantage. The gardens themselves are not completely filled in, the Queen will not be arriving until the first week of July, but the incredible views of Salsbury Crags and Arthur's Seat were enough to keep us smiling.

Back to the flat for some Indian take away and an evening with the pup, and we all parted, sad to see each other go, and even sadder was Audry. Another visit down, and now time for Lili to get back to work on her final project, with only a few weeks left until it has to be finished, EEEK!

More soon!
