Record Store Day

Hello all!

Today is a day of celebration, not only in Lili done embroidering, but it is International Record Store Day! Andrew and Lili called up Cashel, the local music head, and Amanda to join in some rompings around town searching out some good music. Everyone was on board, we met up for brunch at a Spanish restaurant. Lili was helped out by Amanda to order a delicious ham sandwich, while Andrew took a cue from Cash and went with El Grande. This might have been a bit of mistake. Two fried eggs, eight slices of serrano ham and a pile and a half of potatoes and salsa. Andrew couldn't do it, but everyone decided it was a worthy effort and churros were ordered up to sweeten our departure.

Making our way down to the Royal Mile we hit up a few shops with Underground Solu'shn being the record store of choice. Mobbing with people scrambling for limited releases, Cash was lucky to find what he was looking for, a house/rap album. Andrew and Lili struck out, hoping they would be lucky enough to score one of the rare first recording of Elvis rerelease, but to no surprise none were left in stock. After a quick browse through the crazy crowd it was back out into the sunshine.

Down the street we went, stopping in a few stores here and there while mostly enjoying each others company, with a highlight being a ''vintage'' store that had mostly reproduction clothing and some cool t shirts. Lili and Amanda had fun browsing around and Andrew and Cash had fun playing classic Sonic the Hedgehog on the Sega very obviously set up for the boyfriends/husbands not interested in shopping.

As we wound our way down the road we realized it was time to stop at the pub. Cash led us all on tour through some back roads and into what used to be an old vetinary school and is now quite a nice pub. Drinks ordered, we sat outside in the warm sun, relaxing and talking and not worrying or thinking of final projects. We watched the sun slowly hide itself behind the buildings and knew it was time to head to our respective homes.

Lili decided we had walked enough to warrent some Krispy Kremes for tea, so a quick pit stop and then home. The donuts satisfied our munchies as we noticed that we had walked almost ten miles today, and soon then decided we should just make dinner before the whole dozen donuts disappeared. Breakfast for dinner it was, and with full bellies it was time to sit down and give our weary legs and feet a bit of a break.

More soon!
