Hello all!

Everything has been crazy, and it is al coming to a close. Lili has been plugging away getting all the little details ready for the final project show, and this weekend we have started hanging it. Luckily the rain that has been pounding down all week finally subsided and getting all the necessary materials up to school was relatively easy. Upon arrival, we discovered that all was not as it should have been. A trip to get some tea and wait around for an hour or two, and finally the walls being cunstructed for the show were finished. Hooray! or not, the baseboard and topboard weren't painted, so first it was paint and paint some more.

After the paint literally dried, it was time to start measuring everything out. We started with Amanda's shelves, as they determined the area she would need. Next came the all to complicated Ikea cabinet construction. Now, for those who have bought Ikea products, you know what it is like, for those who haven't let me explain. They do an amazing job making flat pack furniture, and it all goes together, eventually. No matter what you get, at some point, something doesn't fit and it requires a little more coaxing than you are comfortable with, or some modification. With minimal frustration, and no spare parts on this one, it was together.

This left all of us hungry, so a quick order of pizza and lunch on the floor, then back to work. Cash and Amanda began organizing the controlled chaos that was Cashel's stack of frames, while Andrew and Lili quickly hung the curtain rod to hang the quilt from.

At this point some more classmates had started to trickle in, so while Lili was helping Cash with some fine details, Andrew helped Paul hang his project quickly, he had a train to catch. Cash was soon underway attaching all his backing supports for the frames, and with much tape and minimal cursing, it was done!

As we all stood back to admire our work, Amanda organized her images which flew up on the wall, and Cash was onto painting a plinth he needed, while Lili and Andrew decided 6 oclock was late enough and packed up. It was time to get home to a beagle and make amends, and get some sleep to come back tomorrow and finish off.
